The aim of the project to empower the rural women through promoting their professional skills which ultimately contribute towards promoting their socio-economic status. Under this project, vocational training on tailoring was provided among 90 slum rural women.

The overall objectives of the project are to promote the Socio-Economic status of the disadvantaged rural women and adolescent women through Skill promotion Training and Community development activities. The targeted beneficiaries of the project are the poorest of the poor the rural adult women of the sadar upazilla of Mymensingh district. The ‘Vocational Training’ part of the project under taken & considered as piloting on for the development of Skills on “Sewing trade of the unemployed & unskilled slum women. The project also worked on Community Awareness activities.

Description of actual services provided in the assignment:

  1. Stakeholder selection and Group formation
  2. Skills Development session conduction on Sewing
  3. Awareness session on health, nutrition
  4. Coordination and linkage with the prospective employer for their job placement
